John and Aurelia Hopkins
John F. Hopkins Jr. was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana. He lived with his parents in Alaska, Nebraska, Delaware and Florida where they helped pioneer home missions churches. He attended Texas Bible College and then married in 1972. John Hopkins ministered for three years among Hispanics in Houston, Texas, served as the pastor of the Spanish United Pentecostal Church in Bronx, New York, and founded another Spanish speaking congregation in Queens, New York. Under the supervision of the General Home Missions Division, he organized the first two Spanish Conferences of the United Pentecostal Church in North America. In 1979 he was appointed as pioneer United Pentecostal missionary to Panama, Central America. In 1985 his responsibilities expanded to include the superintendency of the United Pentecostal Church of Costa Rica, where the Hopkins family lived for four years, and in 1992 he also became superintendent of the United Pentecostal Church of Nicaragua. He served as the area coordinator for the Southern Zone of Central America and also as the CAC regional coordinator of Leadership Development International. He is also an active member of the board of directors of the PENTECOM ministry. He is the author of three books, Christian Giving, God’s Name Revealed, and In All Manner of Conversation. In 2004 he was appointed to the position of regional director of the CAC Region, which entails Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean, and three nations in South America. He resides in St. Louis, Missouri, with his wife Aurelia, who is the CAC regional prayer coordinator. The Hopkins have three children, Sofia, John III, and Alisa
